Elder abuse for healthcare fraud and abuses usually revolves around medical related frauds carried out by Doctors and health care professionals such as home caregivers. Overbilling and Fake treatment bills that actually never occurs are common amongst the others. There are several cases wherein doctor advises patients for heavy medicines and test for a very minor disease such as blood pressure rise. Many a times doctor although after taking fees for one hour long consultation talks to patient for couple of minutes only. Surgeries are even not performed for which elders are charged a hefty fees amount. Elder abuse is just not prevalent in doctor and limited to their dispensaries; it is even cascaded to their staff for illegal billings. It’s also fraudulent billing if medical professional tries to charge Medicaid and private insurance both for your treatment taking undue advantage for selfish motive.
